Came across that quote while reading the book “Can You Keep a Secret?” by Sophie Kinsella… though the saying should’ve struck me bad, having no boyfriend since birth, the “funny” thing is I found it “Funny”…
I guess I can tolerate the dog bite or found the bee sting bearable yet I refuse to rant on the fabulous things on being single. I’ll even expose the “unbearable” and “intolerable” side of being “kinda alone”.
Hmmm!! Here goes;
- There is no one obligated to listen to you whine on that annoying friend or the super stressful job. I guess we single girls just open our laptops and add a new entry on our blogs.
- There is no one who “over” worry when you have a slight fever. I guess it’s just enough that our mothers hand us the biogesic, I mean that’s the ultimate cure right?
- There is no one who appreciates when you shave (down there!), It’s itchy yet I do it every month… Would have been fun if somebody likes me doing it… I would probably do it every week. Hihi!
- There is no one mandated to be concerned about you on what your doing, what your eating or if you’re already done with the Christmas shopping.
- And, there is no one who agonizes on what to give you this christmas! Haaii!!1
But then again… I have friends who seem to be always available when I crave starbucks, and afriend who coincidentally needed company when he bought his Christmas presents and this room mate who just seem to willingly listen to my stupid thoughts.
Though being single is not genetically designed for everybody and to certainly wait (as long as I am doing right now) for that right person is sooooooo not easy, allow me to impart a few words that all single ladies must believe in…
“though it seemed that we don’t have hope we shouldn’t settle for anything less… we should still try to find that magic and that comfortable feeling in being with someone or having that someone… we are not cursed, we are just too damn perfect for those imperfect bastards out there… someone will come along… at least we were spared the heart ache… we should grow and find ourselves while we are alone, so that when that special someone comes along we know ourselves and we have grown so that what’s left for us to do is to know that person and grow with him”
Good Night God Bless!
I guess I’ll just worry on that appreciation on that shaving thingy!
